Limski Kanal Guide
The Limski Kanal is within a short drive from Porec and Rovinj, and is a geomorphologic phenomenon being a 10 km long and 600 m wide canyon, with cliffs rising up to 150 m above the sea.
It is often called Limski Fjord because of its similarity to the Scandinavian glaciated channels but its origins are not the same. Now, a national heritage area, it is protected from development and will therefore remain a natural beauty for the many tourists who enjoy the views, clear waters and fine restaurants close to the small jetty. Since renowned mussels and oysters breed in these rich waters, be sure to sample them during your visit.
Limski Kanal is also regularly visited by the many sight seeing boats so you will be able to sail down the Kanal, into the Adriatic and see other nearby resorts such as Rovinj and Porec.
